I pretty much stopped exercising when it got above 70 degrees. Now I'll ride my bike or go swimming. But I'm NOT running! The last time I jogged I almost passed out. Way too hot for me. I'm packing a killer tan though! I'll enjoy it since I haven't really had one in 10 years. Bring on the overdue skin damage!

43 something. BAMM
I've failed at updating the blog but I'm now down to 221 as of a week ago. That 43 pounds. I have been taken off all of my medicines and have added Prozac because with weightless comes the return of hormones, a giant flood of hormones. They seem to be working. So hey!!

Patience is a virtue and my dietary restrictions are so confusing!
I had to draw on the picture to make a point. But today I came to my mom's to pick up something and the scale was being nice to me. I just wanted to see a space between the red line and the "40". Make it official i'm not in the 40's anymore.
"...The more effort you put into something (intensity) the more Growth Hormone will be secreted, doing low intensity will release little to none at all.
Quick sprints (interval training or wind sprints), has far greater cardiovascular benefits than low intensity cardio, it improves your aerobic capacity (Vo2max) two or three times greater, which will help with weight lifting better. You'll get like 5 times greater GH release and testosterone release, which equates to far greater fat burning than if you just did low intensity for longer durations..."
Last night I went to a "Spring into Fitness" seminar hosted by a chiropractic office with one of my mates. It was interesting, definitely a lot of things to research, one being something called Max T3. The jist of the exercise is to do short bursts of high intensity exercises. For example, he had us stand up and run in place as fast as we could for 20 seconds. We stopped for 20 seconds. Then ran in place again for 20 more seconds. This would have went on for 12 minutes while having a variety of exercises to do, but he just wanted to give us an idea of the program. He claimed that this kind of exercise will continue to burn fat up to 48 hours after the exercise has ended. He claimed that with regular cardio workouts, we lower our testosterone and HGH levels which apparently are the hormones we need to burn FAT. Also, we lower leptin which helps regulate metabolism and raise cortisol which collects in our mid sections. Supposedly doing the MAX T3 exercises, it's the opposite...
I found this on rippednaturally.com on an article called common body building myths by Paul Lucas. He said:
"...The more effort you put into something (intensity) the more Growth Hormone will be secreted, doing low intensity will release little to none at all.

I think it's time to break out the Billy Blanks dvd lol!

1 pound... frustrated
It's Sunday, 1 1/2 weeks after my last weigh in and I MAY have lost a pound. I've been running, eating my 1200 calories, and being the model fucking health nut. I'm beating myself up over 1 pound b/c honestly I feel like it should be melting off of me much much faster than that. 2004 when I started weight watchers, it didn't take 2 months to lose 25 pounds. I swear to god this had better not be a plateau already... this diet is too young for this.

Chxxsx
So having a hard week financially has taken its toll on my diet. I thought I'd share with you how silly and cruel it is that nothing healthy is available for under $3.
Exhibit A: sandwich slices. What's missing from that title? Looks like cheese. Smells like cheese. Tastes like something we were raised to believe is cheese. Yet... It is SO incredibly processed, it is illegal to put the word "cheese" on the label. 99 cents, folks. That's right. All this can be yours for 99 cents. Well hell yea that's why I bought it. I'm so broke that I wish I could have held on the dollar this bullshit cost me. I'm pretty sure a mcdouble is healthier than this shit.
Exhibit B: behold my food diary at noon. I'm down to 1200 calories a day in order to lose weight. At 240 (I'm in desperate need of a weigh in) I like to fill up on healthy foods so that I can stay satisfied longer.
3 slices of tiny tiny pizza and a sandwich containing the chxxsx above and bologna I did eat it on my favorite whole grain bread. I refuse to cut back on my bread. It's the most satisfying thing of my day.
What's left? Maybe 200 calories. I'm fucked.

Broke...
There's just something about going to the store with $40 left to last over a week to feed two people that makes me really mad. Especially when everyone in line in front of me were jobless with link cards. Yay government. I have the lowest amount of hourly pay legally allowed at a job that refused to acknowledge me as even a part time employee... They won't even give me that much... Then I come home and I'm mocked by someone who has more money than he knows what to do with. Something about this person being in my house and me being forced to front a smile and pretend everything is ok to back up yet another bullshit lie my boyfriend is too proud to admit. I just want to mourn comfortably. I'm tired. If I want to cry in the comforts of my own house, that's my right!

First actual failed jog.
First off, menstrual cramps.
Ok now that that's out of the way... I should have known todAys exercise was going to be a pain in my ass when I have only had 3 cups of water by 6:30pm. That's bad.
Then as I was leaving my house on my bike to head to the track, the neighborhood sex predator was walking by staring me down.
The track was loaded with people. Mainly kids, dogs, and kids with balls and several groups of loud mouth big ass bitches. Started my warm up walk, feeling good. Got music going this time. 1/4th of a lap down, I look to my right and this oversized 14 year old who looks like she may hump her teddy bear at night was slightly behind me. Just STARING AT ME! "Holy shit you just scared me, he he (nervous laugh)"
"Is that your bike!"
"Um, yes?"
"Can I ride it around here?!!!"
Um, no."
She turned and walked away. Next I knew she was at every turn. "Give me two laps!!!"
"Um, no."
People are just freaks. Finally 3 rounds of 1 minute jogs down, 5 to go... Man my throat is getting gunky. I need water. I started my 4th run, 30 seconds in and almost to my water source, STOMACH CRAMP!!!!!!!! Had to stop. Once I made it to my bike, I was ready to leave. Groups of people just standing around on the track.
Ok quick side winder, right now I'm sitting outside my house. Completely failed my exercise right? 3 different sets of people just walked by. Make that 4. 3 of them had dogs, one with a stroller. All STARING. FUCK OFF!! This makes me miss Morton. Oh crap. That's it. I'm in the Fred Rogers neighborhood. I forgot these people like to talk and smile and wave and compliment and stare and all that crap that Nass doesn't want to do today.
Even the black people were asking about my bike. My last neighborhood... The one where I was the minority, people just looked straight ahead. No hi's. No wonder they hated me.
So much for me time. I should have just curled up and watched Doctor Who.

Jogging
Couch potato to 5k... I'm on week 1 day 3 and so far it really isn't that bad. I've enjoyed it so far. Lol!!!!!!
I weighed in again today!!! 240! That's 24 pounds gone. (Of course I started this on Wednesday and forgot to finish it, so it's really been two days ago!! Whoops.)
BMI- 45.3
In addition to the jogging, I've been doing 3 sets of 20 triceps extensions. My pops told me it'll tighten up my arms. Of course he told me this years ago, but he claims I never listen to him. HA!!
On a side note, I've been working very hard at finding a new job. My current one is just getting very ridiculous with task expectations. I was given 5 hours to do something that we started on Tuesday. Apparently it's still not finished today on Friday even though I haven't worked since THAT 8 hour shift. But somehow since I was the first person to work on that project, she got pissed at me. It's taken a lot of convincing (from myself while looking over an already tight budget on the home front) to not quit.
Other things going on... Peoria is flooded pretty bad. Roads are caving in, people can't leave their neighborhoods, several streets are blocked off, it's a little terrifying. Someone posted that our river floods at 16 feet, next Tuesday our river is expected to be 30 feet.
Boston was bombed on Monday and last night a few things went down where a cop was shot and supposed one of the bombers. I'm a conspiracy theorist. I'm just going to keep this one to myself.

Hello relapse!!! 2 legs, a breast, a wing, taters and gravy, 3 biscuits, 2 honey packets, and a handful of fries later...
Feeling over confident yesterday and tired of an indecisive darling never knowing what he wants to eat, I decided on chicken from Popeyes. And it could have worked... Had he not complained about wanting 4 breasts. Since Popeyes couldn't grasp the concept of substituting pieces, I ended up ordering a 12 piece, 2 giant sides, and 6 biscuits. At first I was ok... I only went over 300 calories. My daily goal is only 1220 right now anyways. And for those who don't read this, don't go saying that that's not right or that I'm starving myself. I'm 5'1" with a small bone structure. I don't need a 1600 or higher calorie diet. I'm doing good at this rate. Well, as I seem to have forgotten, after my dinner binge that put me over 300 calories, foods like that don't fill me up for long. By bedtime I was "craving" food again. His ass was in the kitchen and had laid it all out on the counter like an all you can eat buffet. I'm going to blame him because if he weren't such a fat ass who didn't care about himself, I wouldn't have all these temptations laying around, like the Oreo cookie binge. And also because it is just so much easier to make this someone else's problem. He doesn't understand that that's why I don't drink, that's why I don't gamble, that's why I don't do potentially destructive things when done in large quantities. I will destroy it!! Abuse it!! Shopping is like that too, but it's almost under the radar and sometimes I have resources for super discounted or free items like rewards through the jobs I've had and amazon.
Anyways... After two legs, a breast, a wing, taters and gravy, 3 biscuits and a handful of fries, I went over my 1220 daily calorie goal by 1224 calories with a grand total of 2444 calories for the day. Would be perfect if I was looking to gain weight. Even to simply maintain, I would have blown it. Yikes!!! I'm hoping from all the running around I did at work yesterday that maybe it'll counter some of
It. My acid reflux was there to greet me after the almost midnight binge session.

A goal happened today!!
After eating dinner, I felt kind of bad about no really getting any significant amount of exercise in today. Usually I ride my bike. Well today was super rainy. Sure I walked around the mall with my friend but we were not doing much but looking at clothes and trying on shoes.
Myfitnesspal is great because anyone that is my friend can see what I do and what I eat. Everyday. I'm fine with that. Sure I can hide my information but where's the fun and challenge in that?
I'm nazamataz on there if anyone who doesn't read this wants to add me!!
Oh oh back to my point!!!! My goal was to do 30 minutes on the elliptical. Being so out of shape as I was, I found out it wouldn't be easy which is why 30 minutes became a goal. I did 35 minutes on it today!!!! The only reason i stopped was because I'm scared of over doing it. Any amount of pain will scare me away from exercising. I don't need that right now since I'm actually having fun doing what I've been doing.
Since it was rainy, I turned off the lights to my "gym", raised the blinds, and watched the lightning while I pumped away. Sure I had my headphones on beating away to Robyn on pandora radio, but the calm outside my zone was pretty sweet actually. Ok. Done being a fitness geek. Good night!!

Yesterday's weigh in...
I hit 244 yesterday. That makes a grand total of 20 pounds lost since March 8th. And who knows how much in total since I didn't weigh myself at the beginning of the diet. But officially it's 20 pounds.
February 23rd I received two pairs of lane Bryant jeans. Neither fit me AT ALL! Well since then I'm not sure where one of the pairs went to, but the other, I wear all the time. Fits perfectly. Almost a little big. But that's fine. I'm good with that.
My bmi is down to 46.1. Still considered morbidly obese. But it beats the 49.9 I was less than a month ago. Updated body pictures are coming soon.
One this is for sure though, the black pants I was wearing in the first pictures are very loose on me. Almost unwearable!
Everyday I've been riding my bike. Not getting on the elliptical as much as I would like but it's been really nice out. Each day I do a minimum of 30 minutes. Yesterday was all gardening. I actually wasn't going to do that much. I went to darling's grandparents' house and used their scale which was really touchy and unreliable. It bounces around too much to pinpoint what I was. If I leaned forward it added 35 pounds!!! So I was bummed thinking all my hard work was for nothing. Went to my mom's where I normally weigh and sure enough it was 6 pounds different than what I was made to believe on the evil scale at Teta's. So my pops followed me back home and we decided to fix my front yard. Got a little (unwanted) sun. I like being pale thank you very much! Besides, I turn yucky red and then back to pale.

I'm not fat?
I LOVE when people tell me I'm not fat! Then what am I? And what IS considered fat? I'm pretty sure I'm textbook definition of fat. There will never be a better example of fat than me. Quit sugar coating it for me because you are only pissing me off by obviously lying to my face. So if you fall down in the street and exclaim, "I'm drunk!", are you expecting me to say, "No, you are not? You are just clumsy today?"
If I openly call myself fat in front of you it's probably for one of the following reasons:
1. I'm trying to get you to laugh, which is ok because I want to laugh at me too. And making you laugh makes me happy. I did this to myself. I wasn't raped by a Twinkie.
2. I'm looking for size fat. That means that most clothes in stores around my town go up to a size 16 MAYBE. So obviously at a size 20/22, I'm looking for plus size and I'm too lazy to say "plus size". But the name plus size bothers me. There's nothing plus about being FAT!!! Also, everyone has their skinny clothes and their fat clothes. Wait! Did you just realize you do it to?
3. Big boned...? Do I really have to go there? I'm not big boned. I'm petite. Under this gigantic whale coating is a petite little shit who should be called a boney bitch. I measured my elbow at 90 degrees. I'm on the small size of petite when it comes to my skeleton. So technically, I'm worse than you think!
4. I may have been complaining about something hurting. As far as I see it, imagine little 100 pound girls carrying around a 150 pound man... All day... Every day. Do you think their knees will eventually start to hurt? Backs? Feet?
At 264, I was officially 3x the size of my friend Alisha. That means I was 3 of her. Three skinny chicks. Except I was holding two of them. When I see my sweet southern style Alisha, I cannot imagine her wanting to carry $30 worth of groceries let alone two versions of herself. It's just not possible.

In related news, airlines are going to start charging airfare based on weight. Apparently the less weight equals less fuel consumption. Well duh...

Lets talk BMI!
What an exciting topic! I know right? Actually it's boring as hell and I don't even believe it's accurate. I mean just because I'm 5'1" and 250 as of my last weigh in, doesn't mean I have a high bmi... What if I had so much hair and muscles that I weight that much... Just saying.
Anyways...
At 264 (doctor appointment weight) my bmi was 49.9.
At 250 my bmi is 47.2.
BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5 (97 pounds or less)
Normal weight = 18.5–24.9 (98-132 pounds)
Overweight = 25–29.9 (133-158 pounds)
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater (159 or higher)
I did a little math above in case you haven't noticed. 98 pounds? Normal? Seriously?

Grandma's birthday!!
Hung out with family. Lots of family actually!! Was great. Told my mother my plans for a courthouse wedding coming up pretty soon if I get my way. Whatev.
Anyways on to my disastrous body stuff and junk. We went to a local Mexican restaurant to which I got what I thought would be healthier. Texas fajitas. Had grilled shrimp, chicken, and steak, green peppers, onions. Of course flour tortillas, rice, and beans. Yummy....
The good news is I had originally ordered a big fat deep fried chimichanga drenched in cheese and red shit!!! And I.... Passed that mofo up!!! That is my biggest achievement for the evening. Proud of me.
So if I analyzed it half right then I went over by 500 calories. Not bad. Went to Walgreens and got four D batteries. Time to power up that elliptical correctly. It's junky as all hell. Probably the best I could have gotten for as little as I paid, but still. Whatever, managed to hit 10 full minutes on resistance level 1!!! Lol. Go me. Fail. But I did it. Heart rate was 180 something. So I had to quit. Guess I'm going to have to work my way up to healthy.
UPDATE: That chili beef shit I made continues to be amazing, actually even more amazing after 2 days of sitting in the fridge then microwaved.
Pictured below

Diabetic dinner #1
Chili beef and corn casserole. Has lean hamburger, cumin, chili powder, salsa, corn and collard greens in it. Not to bad for a first time try. Also very filling.

But you don't have diabetes...
Darling has struck again and again today despite it being day 1 of his 8 day vacation.
1. First thing today he asked me (despite being fully capable) to go to McDonald's and pick him up some sandwiches. No I didn't get me a single thing...
2. So after I scarfed down my McDonald's, I read a book and he played his video games. I decided to make a sandwich. I accidentally cut myself. While trying to get the bleeding to stop he says, "a band aid will stop the bleeding" -_-
3. He asks me to go to the store to get said bandaid and while I'm there pick up cereal. "We can live on that for a while."
4. Finally the bleeding slowed down. I decided to google "how do I know if I need stitches". It just wouldn't stop bleeding. While I was reading I seen something about diabetes and bleeding. I read it out loud. He replies with, "but you don't have diabetes." Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
---------Answers---------
1. Thanks for the added temptation, asshole. It's bad enough the commercials remind me of that shit.
2. A band aid does NOT stop bleeding, pressure does. A band aid only helps keep it clean and maybe a few other things like topical ointments but most certainly not to stop bleeding like this.
3. You may have convinced yourself that you can live on that, despite what your kidneys, stomach, digestive system, pancreas, and heart may think, but I have not agreed to live like that since I was 19. Secondly, I would eat like that if I HAD to under different situations of more healthful times, but here in Diabetes 2013, it's asking for trouble. Good luck with that.
Also, what am I, your fucking gopher? Go get your own damn cereal. I say this because the past has shown me that I'll never get the cereal he likes even if he told me what cereal he wants.
4. I don't have diabetes? Did you get a phone call from Dr. Sebastian that I didn't know about? Last I checked, I was damned close. Close enough that I am living my life as if it's already been diagnosed. The only thing between me and diabetes is DIABETES. And maybe all this water and Metformin I take every day.
I know no one reads this, but advice would be nice.

Peeps.
You too? Really?!
Ok sure, from the picture below you may be able to substitute sugar free candy since it does exist. THEY DO EXIST!! But I wouldn't wish that upon anyone. Sugar free peeps are the devil and he will emerge from your asshole only 1 peep and 2 hours later like a volcano of diarrhea. Good luck with that!!

Fast food rage!!
McDonald's has not one but TWO spicy chicken sandwiches, a medium fry, and a soda for $4. Fucking assholes.
Buy a blizzard, get one for 99 cents. Seriously? ASSHATS!!!!
That would be my favorite fast food meal right now if I could do it. I wonder how much trouble I'd get in physically if I just did it... Eat it all!!!!!
I am starving. Perhaps because my $40 budget is a little intense. I found a few tips online. Chicken stroganoff and salmon Alfredo. Sounds pretty good actually!! Buuuuuut..... It's not a blizzard. Not only does the blizzard commercials play like a mofo, but my favorite mint cookie is the ending blizzard close up. And, it lingers.... Longer than it needs too. ASSHOLES!!!!
*UPDATE*
Burger King whopper junior $1.29....
Yea. Fuck you.
Really, Taco Bell? You too? But you are my weakness and you don't have to advertise to remind me that I always think about you. Meanie!

Budgets suck!
I've been given $40 to make it the rest of the week feeding 2 people. Mind you, one of these people is a "growing boy" and eats a LOT! Diet foods are not his thing. So let me rephrase my original statement...
I've been given $40 to feed two people, two totally different meals for a week. Plus snacks will be expected. Ugh.... I'm screwed. Diabetes can just take me now because at this point I'm so frustrated. A year ago I could have just made a big pot of spaghetti or a big thing of lasagna. Now I have nothing like that to make for budgety weeks and be healthy without breaking the bank. I'm beyond irritated at his lack of understanding that those aren't meals that I can have anymore. I feel I need to just go get those things and eat bullshit diabetic garbage while he eats my lush cooking so then maybe he can understand how bad THIS SUCKS.

A little alcohol goes a long way
Started off the evening with intentions of just stopping in to say happy birthday to a girl from my "crew". One of my best friends and I (haha proper drunken English right there!) agreed... One for her... None for the diabetic... Then we found the drink specials sign. On a friday might? No way!!! Sex with a captain $2. She buys one and has me try it. And in case you don't know, she loves sex on a beach, I love the captain. This was like a match made in heaven plus it was amazing. Even my mother would have loved it since it tasted like a reddish version of a fuzzy navel. (1) So why not? Just one. Went down smooth. Does Hollie want another? Ok I'm going too, sure!!! Goes really quick. Aaaand.... It's gone. Well hell I've already screwed up lets do it again. And again. 4 drinks later I'm singing the most depressing song I could find by Sara Bareilles. (2) Finally we decide to leave. My song put us to sleep. Got home, here I am. An idiot at best. However it was great seeing those girls. I do miss the days we'd boogie, and boy were there LOTS of those days. But now, I need to counter act what I just screwed up and I have no idea how. Plus I work at the makeup counter tomorrow from 10:30-7. Ughhhhhh.
Good night.
_____________
(1) My mother and fuzzy navels. She drinks it very slowly, so slow the ice melts. And occasionally, I mean once a decade, she makes it to the bottom. Usually ending with me in the hospital because she gave me something for a cold that LOOKED like cough syrup...but wasn't. One week and a Super Bowl Sunday later, the charcoal finally exits my system in the texture of black oil paints. Took forever to wipe. "The good shtuff alwaysh tashtes bad!" Uh huh.
(2) Not so much depressing as it was the only other song that wasn't "Love Song". Which don't get me wrong is an amazing song. But after 10pm, all Thundercats are go! No one sings a slow song after 10. And I really didn't think I could handle "Love Song" as sloshed as I was.
****Picture #1 is Hollie with her drinks #3 and #4 to catch up with me. On the bonus side I learned Braille today so when my blood sugar decides to blind me once and for all, I'm set.****
****Picture #2 is the fancy heels I managed to go the entire night in. Sure I was sitting, sure it was only 3 hours, sure they are only 2-3 inches tall with a hidden platform in the toe. I don't care!! That's more than I can normally do!!!****

Frustrations From The Uneducated
I remember when my pops was first diagnosed. I was 7. He taught me the signs and symptoms of things to look for that may require me to call 911. He took me out driving to show me what to do if he ever passed out behind the wheel. I was 7...
My darling doesn't understand how A1C tests work. Cannot say that I completely understand it either. From what I gathered, it's an average percentage of blood glucose over the course of a period of time. My doctor made it sound like testing any less than 3 months between would be silly.
My dilemma today is that I'm not actually having a good diabetic day. My eyes are blurry and I'm so thirsty you'd think I didn't just go through the better half of a gallon of water. So here I am, I'm taking these pills, attempting to eat better, and my symptoms come and go occasionally. I don't know how normal that is. But I'm assuming it's all part of the complications of being diabetic.
When I told darling what was going on, he pretty much said maybe I should have more doctor visits and be put on a different medicine as if the medicine is a cure. The stress he causes me sometimes from not only NOT understanding my problem, but the mere fact he refuses to understand it, infuriates me to the point I want to send him into his own little diabetic coma for a little peace and quiet. He doesn't understand even the basics like I can't have sugar... Breads turn into sugar... Soda has lots of sugar... Fruits are sugar... Tomato sauce has added sugars... (A lot of his favorite meals i cook have tomato sauce or stewed tomatos)
Would it be better to just not tell him and pretend everything is ok? If I do that and something happens, he wouldn't know where to start. Part of me thinks it wouldn't matter if he did or didn't "know". Other parts of me feel like he just doesn't care enough to understand the severity of my situation.

1st Month...
I'm going to die! Aren't we all? October 2012, my doctor prescribed me Metformin, an anti-diabetic drug. No I'm not diabetic... Yet. But I am smokin' close and I'm only 27.
Most of my life has been a giant weight battle. Sometimes a new drug comes along or a fad diet catches my attention and I bite.
Ephedrine Diet
My first diet was back in the ephedrine days. My boyfriend at the time was telling me about this girl he knew who lost a bunch of weight by simply taking a little red pill. So I had to try it! I wasn't old enough to purchase it but my mom met with the clerk and said they had her permission whether or not she was with me. I took that precious little pill 3 times a day. My diet consisted of bananas, granola bars, and all the water I could stomach. I don't remember ever being home long enough to eat a full meal. I didn't get on the scale so I'm not sure how much I truly lost that time, but one thing's for sure. I could show my belly! Granted I looked like a crackhead my senior year of high school bc my body would shake so bad I was a giant distraction in class. But I...looked good! Then the laws took effect, my drug was yanked from the shelves forcing me to quit a level 3 fat predator addiction cold turkey. I slept for 15 hours at a time waking only to use the bathroom and have my mom call me into school because I wasn't going. But that's another story. The weight slowly came back.
2004 Weight Watchers
My mom was in the same dire straights I am finding myself in today. She was scared and confused for her life and her future. At 247lbs I went to weight watchers. Ill never forget, my first weigh in I lost 7 pounds and mom dropped 16. She started crying. Even though on day one of that diet, we buckled and went on a Taco John's binge, we still kicked butt. Over the course of the next 6 months, I managed to lose 62 pounds and my mom lost 90. We both still had a long way to go. Then we hit a plateau. And we stayed on that plateau for another 6 months. Weight watchers weekly prices started to rise, I moved out, and we both started college. Everything started to disintegrate except our waistlines. 7 years later, here I am.
November 2012
My eyesight blurs in and out. My throat craves water. I have darkening under my arms, back of my neck, and behind my thighs. My bladder won't let me get 30 minutes in at work without running to the bathroom...which is strategically located on a different floor and 2 annoyingly long sets of steps. Going down I was about to burst, coming back up I was gasping for air, I was miserable.
I went to the clinic and they checked my vitals. Surprisingly my blood pressure was normal and my thyroid was perfectly fine. My weight was 254 and my A1C came back 5.8%. My doctor decided to prescribe my Metformin and retested me at a 5.6% A1C. He never said lose weight or eat less sugar. He just warned of the side effects, told me to take walks more often, and said the pill usually results in a little weight loss. I was devastated. With no idea what to do, I kept down the path I was going except with another little pill.
March 8th 2013
3 months later, my doctor claimed he was shocked! Not only had my A1C test remained exactly the same, but I gained 10 pounds! 264. I have a friend who is 1/3 my size. And she's taller than me!
One week prior, I found a video on YouTube about people who drink a cup of water before each meal, a cup during, and a cup after at least 3 times a day. That's all they did. They claim to eat whatever they want. I vaguely remembered a guy I use to work with who drank half his body weight in ounces. He, too, claimed to eat whatever he wanted. Ok so half of my weight is roughly a gallon of water. That first night, I tried a small bowl of chili and I could barely eat half of it, I was stuffed. I was in love!! Doctor approved my water diet and I was set to go!!!
Today!!!
27 year old me wants to go to 11 year old me and force me to not be such a twat in P.E.
Or even 17 year old me. I was almost fit back then. Instead, I continued to be a twat in P.E.
Wait what?....... 38 year old me is at the door about to have a heart attack and is trying to chase me with a butcher knife? Oh! I see! Because I'm being a twat to the elliptical that I can't stay on longer than 3 minutes. Way to go, Nassy Chunk-a-lot.
------
The water thing has went great except my acid reflux is so bad my throat has hurt since my March doctor's appointment.
So I slowed it down a bit by spreading out my water intake a little. Seems to be working a little better. Now to keep the pizza away from me.
My mom's scale read 260 today. This is semi pleasing considering her scale is always higher by a couple of pounds than an accurate read. I like to pretend that the week before my doctors appointment I may have been closer to 270 and lost my "water weight" before my first weigh in.
Future blogs won't typically be this long, I felt I should introduce my weight loss roller coasting drama before the fun and games actually start.
